Fire Your Boss

By Seth Daley

Who hasn't had the momentary fantasy of firing their boss? Firing the "man" or "woman" is an exciting concept to say the least. I am sure there are many people who would love to do it and more than that who think of it as an elusive dream. Guess what... people do it everyday; and a lot more than you think!

In today's economy, double income households are the norm. People are diligently searching for alternatives to the tired old 9 to 5. It's too limiting for today's families. They want to enjoy their lives instead of watch it all pass by. What's amazing is they're actually figuring out how to do it. One of the fastest growing business sectors today is Home Based Business. Statistics say this area of business will probably double over the next decade. Sometimes the pain of a current situation can be the greatest motivator to finding a solution. Have you ever heard of "the carrot and the stick" theory? Simply put, people will do more to avoid pain (the stick) than to gain pleasure (the carrot) and if you thick about it, it is absolutely true.

The typical smoker doesn't quit because of initial health reasons. Everyone knows that smoking can kill you. It takes something like being out of breath from a single flight of stairs or personally facing cancer before they stop. Or what about those who have an extra 20 pounds to lose? They may not take much action until the 20 becomes 30 or more and their "fat" clothes don't fit anymore. Would you fire your boss if you found out you were sacrificing your own success by working for theirs... and they knew it? What if you discovered they were holding you back or worse, keeping a lot of your hard earned money?

The cold hard truth is if you work in the corporate world, then the chances are that some bosses have all been guilty of those things at one time or another. I'm not knocking anyone's boss and I myself have had some great ones. I have learned many of my most treasured lessons from them; but at some point it was time for me to get out and make my own way. Keep in mind if you are good at what you do, no smart boss wants to lose you. They see your value so when it's time for you to move on, you have to fire them.

Here are some of the why's ....

* Earn what you're worth and attain financial freedom. Imagine ,making the money you think you're worth and not what someone else says you're worth. If you're doing to work hard, why not do it yourself?

* Take control of your schedule and your life. A home business lets you decide how long you work and when. You choose the days you'll be "in the office" and when you won't. Set your priorities based on what YOU think, not what someone else does.

* Choose your own destiny. Firing your boss and beginning your own home business will give you the freedom to find and follow your bliss. Punching someone else's time clock never will.

* Create time freedom for you and your family. Imagine it's Monday morning and instead of joining the dreaded morning traffic, you enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee. What about taking your son to little league practice on a weekend afternoon or maybe even coach! Your time-freedom could allow you to take a quick romantic getaway and easily leave in the middle of the week. There's no one to tell you, you can't! Now that's freedom!

* Be Free From the Restrictions of an Office. Have you ever tried to get your boss to schedule a business trip around your schedule? Probably not because that would never happen. If you work for yourself then you go when and where you choose. Just grab your lap top and your cell phone and go. No business missed and a lot of fun gained!!!

* Forget that promotion that's been haunting you. If you're the right person for the job if should be yours, right? In today's world of over work and over achievement there may be several people equally qualified for your promotion. Owning a home business removes that.

These are just some of the reasons to venture out into the growing world of home business. Remember, this is about you as an individual and the value you bring to an organization. Working for someone else you'll always be working hard to make them rich. Don't you think you should be working hard to make you rich? Find your passion and your bliss by freeing yourself from the shackles of a dead end job. You're only limited in opportunity by the limits of your own imagination.
